Location: Township 2 North, Range 14 West, northwest quarter section of section 28. Parcel is a rectangle and fenced on three sides. There is an access road through Golden Horseshoe, but the property is not part of that large parcel subdivision . A buyer is required to pay an annual road maintenance fee of $50 to the Golden Horseshoe Landowners Association. Membership is optional and not required. Improvements: Property is fenced except at the midline adjoining another privately owned 160 acres. There are no covenants or restrictions. Beautiful property with rolling hills, meadows and lovely treed areas of large juniper and pinion. Awesome views of the Sawtooth Mountains and Alegres Mountain. Electricity and phone nearby, but not on the property. Map:In regard to a map the best one would be a section map. This 160 acres is in Township 2 North, Range 14 West, northwest quarter section of Section 28. Parcel is close to a square, and is fenced on three sides. Directions: From Albuquerque, take the I-25 south to Socorro. (You can also take the I-40 west and head down to Quemado from there. See NM map.) From the I-25 at Socorro, Pick up Highway 60 going WEST passing through Magdalena and Datil, through Pie Town and continue on for several miles... pass the sign that says Mangas. Continue on a few miles past Mangas to Omega. Omega has virtually nothing there but a house and some junk, so you have to watch for the small green highway sign that says Omega on the north side of the highway. (Omega is about 8.5 miles east of Quemado, so that will give you some orientation as to the number of miles from where to where. I think Quemado is about 44 miles from Datil, so from Datil, Omega Road would be about 35 miles from Datil.) Take Omega Road north to Golden Horseshoe Subdivision (about 7 miles from Highway 60). Turn east (right) at Golden Horseshoe sign into the subdivision. Stay on the main road until it dead ends and then turn left at that dead end (northerly direction); then continue on until that road dead ends into Stallion Lane. (This property is not in the subdivision, but legal access is through the subdivision.) Turn east (right) onto Stallion Lane and continue on until you get to a gate. The gate will probably be padlocked. The property southwest corner starts just at the left hand side of the gate as you are facing east. It is one quarter of a section. A section is one square mile. So the property is 1/4 of a mile square. It will be fenced on the west, north and east side of the property (unless the owner of the 160 acres to the south has put in a fence between the two properties.) The legal access to the 160 NW acres is across the corner of the southern quarter section and you'll see the road. If the gate is padlocked, you can just go through the fence to walk the property. Asking Price: $160,000 Terms are available |
